Staff Assistant II, Flight American Airlines DFW

As a Staff Assistant II, Flight, you will provide clerical support to the Flight Training & Standards Management Staff. This includes professional interaction, answering phone calls, handling walk-in traffic, assisting Fleet Training Managers with new Check Airman tasks, tracking and managing training qualifications, scheduling daily administrative tasks, assisting with special projects, preparing performance review documentation for pilot trainees, tracking Check Airman expenses, and maintaining working knowledge in various software applications.

This role is part of the Flight Training & Standards team within the Integrated Operations Division.

To succeed in this role, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency, a minimum typing skill of 25 W.P.M., and proficiency in Microsoft Office software and applications. They must also pass FAA criminal background checks for unescorted access to airport security identification display areas (SIDA) and secure appropriate airport authority or US Customs security badges. The successful candidate must be comfortable and adaptable to changes in a COVID-related environment, including mandatory mask wear and following guidelines for social distancing, sanitization, health screenings, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred qualifications include prior experience in Flight, Flight Operations, Flight Training, or Safety.
