The Assistant Business Office Manager at Simpson Place in Dallas, TX, has a broad range of duties, assisting the community’s management team as needed. The overall purpose of the Assistant Business Office Manager position is to provide clerical, financial systems, and administrative support to the facility Business Office Manager and the Administrator. The role may include bookkeeping, accounting, data input, and other services for the facility’s business operations.

Essential Duties:
Types, files, prepare correspondence, reports, forms, etc., as may be directed.
Maintains current resident census data
Maintains accounts payable, accounts receivable, resident accounts, and ledgers.
Collection of outstanding balances.
Verifies completion of admissions forms, contracts, and discharge of residents.
Understands and demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of residents in interactions.
Demonstrates honesty and integrity in the care and use of resident and facility property.
Compiles and prepares data/reports as required by regional or corporate staff as related to business office functions.
Prepares/delivers bank deposits
Prepares/sends monthly resident account statements
File for Medicaid benefits for residents
Provides other services/performs other duties as may be assigned by the administrator, regional, or corporate management
Manages the monthly billing process
Job Requirements:
Ability to accurately balance accounts and complete all other required forms.
Advanced courses in office management, organization, and/or accounting is preferred.
Familiarity with the operation of various office machines is preferred
High school diploma is required
Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Insurance eligibility requirements is preferred.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations in relation to the facility’s financial operations.
One year of bookkeeping experience is preferred.
Experience with collections.
Experience with Medicaid applications.
Prior experience in office management and record keeping is preferred.
Utilizes effective time management skills
Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
Working knowledge of health insurance for skilled nursing facilities.
