Job OverviewEconomic Mobility Center (EMC) is seeking a mission-driven, execution-focused Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives that are central to our organizational strategy and partner success. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role plays a critical part in aligning teams, tracking progress across high-priority efforts, and driving accountability from planning through delivery.
The Project Manager will coordinate work across internal departments—including operations, data, product, and partnerships—as well as with external partners in K–12 and higher education. This role will support the execution of complex account plans, manage interdependent timelines, and ensure teams stay focused on delivering outcomes with speed and quality.

Key Responsibilities Cross-Functional Project Leadership- Maintain and manage cross-initiative workplans and timelines aligned to EMC’s strategic goals, tracking milestones across programs, operations, partnerships, and product efforts.
- Coordinate structured planning sessions, retrospectives, and decision-making processes to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvement.
- Create and refine templates, tools, and metrics (KPIs) that promote scalable, transparent execution across teams.
- Identify risks and roadblocks early; elevate strategically and communicate progress clearly to leadership.
- Lead coordination across multiple active projects with varying scopes and stakeholders, ensuring clear timelines, roles, and deliverables.
- Manage scope changes and resource allocation in collaboration with internal leads, maintaining versioned plans and change logs.
- Ensure effective use of project management tools—especially —to support visibility, accountability, and partner alignment.
- Support data collection, reporting, and checklists tied to implementation, grant deliverables, and partner onboarding.
- Continuously improve EMC’s project management systems and workflows to reduce friction and increase clarity.
- Identify and address bottlenecks, introduce scalable process improvements, and support adoption of agile, lean, or hybrid methods.
- Provide regular, concise project updates to EMC leadership and stakeholders, highlighting risks, scope changes, and decisions needed.
- Foster transparency and shared accountability through collaborative, cross-team communication practices.
- Support the COO and Leadership Team on strategic projects, providing tactical coordination, documentation, and insight gathering.
- Prepare internal dashboards, leadership briefings, and partner-facing updates to ensure consistent communication and alignment.
- 4+ years of project management experience leading cross‑functional teams and complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
- Prior experience in ed‑tech, education systems (K–12 or higher education), nonprofits, or other mission‑driven organizations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, risks, resources, and timelines across concurrent projects.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with proven track record of on‑time, on‑scope delivery.
- Experience with business process improvement, workflow optimization, or operations design (preferred).
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Familiarity with project management tools such as (strongly preferred), Asana, or Trello.
- Working knowledge of Agile frameworks and change management principles.
