Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to process payroll, maintain employee records, and ensure timely and accurate payment of wages. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for handling confidential information, answering payroll-related inquiries, and supporting the payroll team with day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities- Process and enter timesheets, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions in the payroll system
- Ensure payroll transactions are completed accurately and on schedule
- Verify employee data and resolve inconsistencies or errors in payroll documents
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Assist with preparation of payroll reports for management, accounting, and auditing purposes
- Answer employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, and timesheets
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting to update employee information and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposit notifications
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information
- Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- 1+ year of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience preferred
- Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., Net Suite, UKG)
- Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Hybrid, or remote. Some overtime required during payroll cycles and year-end processes.
