This is a full-time, entry-level position located within Amazon’s fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, or other operations buildings in Texas. Amazon seeks customer-focused individuals to lead teams of hourly employees across our Operations network. Our warehouses are fast-paced environments where standing, walking, and on-the-floor conversations are common for supply chain leaders.
As an Area Manager, you will engage, lead, and develop your team in a warehouse environment. Your main focus will be motivating, mentoring, and managing your team to meet operational goals. Amazon provides extensive training to develop you into an exceptional people leader. You will ensure your team has the tools needed to succeed while maintaining safety, quality, attendance, and performance standards.
Compensation varies by geographic market, with base pay ranging from $70,000 to $78,000 annually. Additional benefits, including medical, financial, and other perks, may be offered. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting, mentoring, and motivating 50-100 team members
- Operating independently in an autonomous environment
- Standing and walking during shifts up to 12 hours
- Willingness to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, typically a 4-day work week
- Overseeing truck deliveries, handling packages, operating equipment, and stepping in as needed
- Working in variable noise environments
- Lifting up to 49 pounds and performing physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and squatting
- Climbing stairs when applicable
Basic qualifications include:
- Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) completed between May 2024 and August 2026 (all requirements met before start date)
Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Enrollment or graduation in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering, or related fields
