is seeking a growth-focused Procurement Manager to drive aggressive expansion of our supplier network and vendor partnerships. The primary focus of this role is outbound outreach: identifying, pursuing, and onboarding new vendors and distributors to fuel the company's growth. This is not a maintenance role; we're looking for a dealmaker who thrives on building relationships and opening new doors.
The ideal candidate brings an established network in the parts and equipment distribution industry, a hunter mentality, and a track record of landing and scaling vendor partnerships. While this role also oversees purchasing operations, inventory health, and vendor accountability (supported by a team of two Purchasing Agents), success will be measured primarily by new vendor acquisition and supply chain expansion.
This position reports to the general manager and partners cross-functionally with Warehouse, IT, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively identify, target, and pursue new vendors and distributors to expand supplier coverage and competitive positioning
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospective vendor targets across key verticals:
Appliance, Outdoor Power Equipment, Power Tools, Vacuum, Spa & Pool, HVAC - Lead full-cycle vendor outreach: cold outreach, qualification, negotiation, and onboarding through first purchase order
- Negotiate pricing, freight terms, payment terms, drop-ship capabilities, and service-level agreements
- Leverage industry relationships, trade shows, and market intelligence to uncover new sourcing opportunities
- Evaluate gaps in current supplier coverage and identify strategic opportunities to improve margin, availability, or exclusivity
- Partner with IT and Operations to integrate new vendors into purchasing and fulfillment systems
- Lead and develop a team of two Purchasing Agents responsible for day-to-day purchasing execution and vendor communications
- Ensure purchasing workflows, PO accuracy, and vendor follow-ups are executed consistently
- Monitor vendor performance including pricing compliance, lead times, and fulfillment reliability
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management to maintain team efficiency
- Oversee inventory levels to balance availability with carrying cost and obsolescence risk
- Monitor and resolve backorders and vendor delays; hold vendors accountable to commitments
- Own vendor invoice validation and resolve pricing, freight, or credit discrepancies
- Track procurement KPIs (fill rate, lead time, backorder rate, inventory turns) and report insights to leadership
- 3+ years in procurement, vendor development, or supply chain
- Proven track record of acquiring and onboarding new vendor relationships
- Experience managing or leading a team
- Proficiency with ERP/inventory management systems
- Existing relationships with distributors or manufacturers in target verticals
- Experience in one or more of the target industries:
Appliance, Outdoor Power Equipment, Power Tools, Vacuum, Spa & Pool, HVAC - E-commerce or catalog/high-SKU environment experience
- Familiarity with drop-ship fulfillment models
- Experience with vendor integration (EDI, API, or similar)
