We’re looking for a Specialty Business Development Manager who is passionate about driving sales, elevating customer relationships, and strengthening our market presence across a growing specialty product category.

What You’ll Do Drive Strategic Growth
  • Lead all sales efforts for your specialty category, aligning to Blue Linx’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Build district-level sales plans with General Managers and execute against targeted goals.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and expand revenue with existing customers.
Be the Customer’s Trusted Partner
  • Manage relationships with key accounts, ensuring a strong value proposition and proactive problem-solving.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring needs are met with speed, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Provide product expertise and support impactful customer presentations.
Increase Market Penetration & Profitability
  • Improve product mix, penetration, and overall profitability across your assigned customers.
  • Stay informed of market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics to advise on strategy.
Support & Develop the Sales Team
  • Conduct joint sales calls with Sales Representatives to identify growth opportunities.
  • Offer coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to strengthen sales effectiveness.
  • Recommend product or service enhancements that drive customer satisfaction and competitive advantage.
What You Bring
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence across teams and customers.
  • Proven success in sales, business development, or account management — ideally within building materials or adjacent industries.
  • The ability to navigate complex challenges, analyze trends, and offer innovative solutions.
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively across functions.
