Senior Business Development – Construction Staffing
Position OverviewThe Senior Business Development professional will play a critical role in driving growth for a construction staffing organization by developing new client relationships and expanding existing accounts across the trades. This role is responsible for building a strong book of business, partnering closely with construction clients, and delivering workforce solutions that directly support project success.
This position is well-suited for a driven sales professional with experience in construction staffing who values long‑term partnerships, accountability, and performance. Success in this role is measured by client growth, relationship depth, and consistent production.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage a personal book of business.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the construction and skilled trades sector.
- Manage and grow existing client relationships through consistent engagement and service delivery.
- Sell staffing solutions tailored to client workforce needs, including temporary and contract labor.
- Partner closely with recruiting teams to ensure timely placement and workforce fulfillment.
- Participate in full‑cycle recruiting activities as needed, including sourcing, screening, and negotiating employment terms.
- Support on‑site workforce management and client operations when required.
- Represent the company at job fairs, networking events, hiring events, and industry functions.
- Prospect new clients using a mix of traditional outreach, referrals, and creative sourcing strategies.
- Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and account data within CRM and ATS platforms.
- Consistently work toward production and revenue goals established by leadership.
- Proven experience in business development within construction staffing or a closely related staffing vertical (manufacturing, skilled trades, Light Industrial, craft).
- Strong understanding of skilled trades, construction environments, and workforce demands.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage client relationships over time.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
- Proficiency with CRM and/or Applicant Tracking Systems for managing sales and talent pipelines.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow‑through.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify client needs and propose solutions.
- Leadership presence and the ability to operate independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar business tools.
