Overview
We are seeking a Senior SAP Program Manager to lead the implementation of new capabilities within our SAP environment as part of a broader Finance Transformation initiative. This role requires a seasoned, hands‑on program leader who can establish strong program structure, drive cross‑functional accountability, and provide clear, executive‑ready visibility into program health. You will partner closely with Finance Transformation Business Leads, IT Leadership, and multiple vendor partners to ensure successful execution across a complex, enterprise landscape.
This is not a passive oversight role – we are looking for a leader who builds structure, drives clarity, and does whatever it takes to move the program forward.
- Program Leadership & Governance
- Lead complex, enterprise‑scale SAP programs involving onshore/offshore teams, multiple vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive program governance structure that provides routine and detailed visibility into:
- Established milestones
- Key decisions
- Entry and exit criteria for phases, deliverables, and major tasks
- Deliverables with baselined start/end dates and assigned owners
- Cross‑functional dependencies
- Critical path tracking and reporting
- Risks and issues with mitigation strategies
- Resource heat maps across business, IT, and vendor teams
- PTO calendars to proactively identify coverage gaps
- Continuously assess program health and provide independent, candid recommendations to improve likelihood of success.
- Executive Engagement & Reporting
- Partner closely with Finance Transformation Business Leads and IT Leadership.
- Engage regularly with the Program Steering Committee and Executive Sponsors.
- Build and deliver status reporting tailored to multiple audiences:
- Detailed, tactical reporting for program teams.
- Executive‑level summaries with insights, risks, trade‑offs, and recommended actions.
- Refresh and evolve reporting structures as program needs shift.
- Cross‑Vendor & Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Reinforce a collaborative team culture across business units and vendor partners.
- Build strong working relationships across Finance, Generation, Supply Chain, HR, and Technology leadership.
- Hold vendors and teams accountable while maintaining collaborative partnerships.
- Proactively resolve tension and diffuse conflict in a constructive, professional manner.
- Bridge understanding across teams and remove blockers, including engaging stakeholders outside the immediate program when necessary.
- Hands‑On Execution
- Roll up sleeves to close gaps in program structure, documentation, or coordination.
- Identify areas where additional clarity or alignment is needed and take initiative to address them.
- Apply creative problem‑solving to sustain momentum through complex challenges.
- 10+ years of progressive program/project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi‑workstream enterprise programs.
- Significant experience managing:
- Onshore and offshore delivery teams.
- Multiple vendors simultaneously.
- Cross‑functional enterprise stakeholders.
- Strong executive presence and comfort presenting to Steering Committees and senior leaders.
- Deep experience building structured, detailed program plans with:
- Clear milestones and baselines.
- Dependency mapping.
- Critical path analysis.
- Risk and issue management.
- Resource tracking.
- Direct SAP implementation experience (S/4
HANA or ECC). - Experience in Finance Transformation initiatives.
- Experience in regulated or asset‑intensive industries (e.g., utilities, manufacturing, energy).
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Clear, transparent program structure with no ambiguity in ownership, timelines, or dependencies.
- Executives have confidence in program health and direction.
- Vendors operate as an integrated team.
- Risks are surfaced early and managed proactively.
- The program moves forward with momentum, accountability, and clarity.
