Job Description
The Sales Center Warehouse Lead is responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks, including loading and unloading trucks and occasionally making deliveries as needed. This role requires leading and coordinating team activities, performing various tasks within the department, and ensuring efficient operations. Key responsibilities include inventory control, auditing, delegating tasks, establishing a cross‑functional team, and adhering to and distributing standard work procedures.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Address questions, and complaints.
- Handle customer returns.
- Develop and maintain a good rapport with customers.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive company image.
- Maintain and count inventory.
- Verify scrap levels and report daily.
- Assure quality standards are met for finished products and elevate items needing QC or supervisory attention.
- Prepare delivery documents, route sheets, and bills of lading.
- Plan shipment loads to ensure timely departures.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Direct traffic on the shipping dock for UPS, Fed Ex, LTL, and customer pick‑ups.
- Perform pre‑trip inspections of trucks and inform management of any issues.
- Operate trucks safely, adhering to speed limits and traffic laws.
- Review production schedule and work orders for the day.
- Ensure all moveable machinery is in working condition and raise repair needs.
- Print daily expeditor sheets and communicate tasks to the team.
- Monitor work area to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe.
- Perform heavy lifting as required.
- Lead and coordinate warehouse activities.
- Provide work direction, coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities.
- Approve time off requests and timecards; write and administer performance reviews; administer corrective actions.
- Help facilitate continuous change and implement new projects and tools.
- Understand all tasks for each position to ensure thorough training and improvement.
- Report to the supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Develop and implement internal procedures and processes.
