The RoleField Researchers collect data that supports CoStar products, capturing current tenants, available listings, and building characteristics in high‑priority commercial properties. They are highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and work independently in a defined geographic territory. They report to a manager in Richmond, VA but are based in the actual market.
Responsibilities- Navigate one-mile square grids to ensure complete commercial real estate data coverage.
- Walk floor‑by‑floor through assigned buildings to document tenant data (business name, address, suite size, geo‑location, media).
- Communicate with building staff and management to obtain tenant rosters and property data.
- Identify new or missing inventory and missing availability data.
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of all collected information.
- Represent CoStar professionally at all times.
- Frequent and repetitive standing, walking and sitting in a car for 8 hours per day.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver equipment up to 5 pounds.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements to type on a tablet or laptop.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, twisting, and carrying necessary.
- Work and drive outside during all seasons.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit institution (preferred).
- At least 2 years of professional experience.
- Strong time‑management and detail‑orientation; works independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to capture and enter data accurately.
- Navigate large geographic areas independently while staying organized.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, proactively identifying missing data.
- Tech‑savvy:
Expert in Windows, Apple OS, Microsoft Office, Internet applications. - Quick learning of new concepts, such as commercial real estate terminology.
- Field experience preferred.
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Pass driving record / abstract check before start; respectful driving behavior required.

This position offers an hourly wage equivalent to $59,000–$60,000 annually, based on skills and experience, and includes the generous benefits plan.
