The Team

Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations, LLC (DI) is a business unit of A&M with more than 40 offices worldwide. Our team provides litigation consulting, business investigations, forensic technology, and expert testimony. We work with law firms, boards, private equity firms, and other fiduciaries, drawing on expertise across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The Risk Management Director

The risk management program in DI includes evaluating and mitigating risks through each phase of client projects and related file retention. This role is based in the United States and requires occasional travel.

How You Will Contribute
  • Review and enhance DI Global risk management and compliance policies, procedures, and control structures
  • Assess global conflicts of interest
  • Partner with key stakeholders to proactively identify and mitigate risks across DI Global
  • Ensure compliance with client acceptance, quality control, and other risk policies
  • Drive continuous improvement through root‑cause analysis of incidents, technology innovation, and process optimization
  • Report the findings of risk‑management reviews to the global leaders of DI
  • Collaborate with Risk Management Directors of other A&M business units to share best practices and risk‑management ideas
  • Coordinate with the A&M Office of General Counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws in each country where DI operates
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related major (accounting or finance preferred)
  • 5+ years of business‑consulting experience, preferably in a DI‑type practice
  • Experience managing risks and quality control within a consulting practice (global experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in business software such as Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self‑starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial culture
  • Additional risk/compliance‑related certifications preferred

Benefits

& Compensation

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending accounts, life and disability coverage, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Eligible employees receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k). The salary range is $130,000 – $175,000 annually, with a discretionary bonus program.
