Baker Design Group is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accounting Operations Manager to support the day-to-day financial and operational needs of our growing business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on small business environment and is comfortable managing a variety of accounting and operational responsibilities.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations within Quick Books Online (QBO)
  • Oversee invoicing, collections, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations
  • Support payroll, benefits administration, and monthly sales tax filings
  • Prepare recurring financial, operational, and customer balance reports
  • Help provide visibility into financial status, operational priorities, and follow-up items
  • Coordinate with ownership, project teams, vendors, and external advisors
  • Support organized financial processes, reporting, and ongoing operational organization and process improvement
Systems & Software

Quick Books Online (QBO), Gusto Payroll, Microsoft Office/Excel, Google Workspace, Asana, Dropbox, and online banking/payment platforms.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years preferred of recent experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations
  • Experience with accounts receivable/payable and payroll administration
  • Strong numerical aptitude and a natural ability to spot discrepancies, inconsistencies, or potential issues before they arise
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, project-based environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing competing priorities
  • A business-minded perspective — someone who understands the numbers behind the operation and can connect financial data to broader business decisions
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Experience working in a small business environment preferred
  • Experience in design, construction, retail, or project-based businesses is a plus
