As the Procurement Manager, you will oversee all procurement functions, including the implementation and growth of Category Management strategies across segments of logistics and transportation. You will formalize supplier relationships to drive reliability, negotiate pricing agreements of all sizes, and collaborate directly with customers, operations managers, and account managers to create procurement solutions that meet service and cost expectations.

What you'll do on a typical day- Handle a diverse supply base that supports all accounts within the organization.
- Conduct RFI/RFP processes and analyze rates, capability, and experience to determine supplier selections while maintaining compliance with the overall sourcing strategy.
- Create, manage, and maintain supplier benchmark pricing to support new customer opportunities and organizational cost studies.
- Perform activities related to onboarding new suppliers into the network.
- Compile and interpret performance metrics for meetings with customers and suppliers; address operational issues as required and participate in quarterly and annual business reviews.
- Research data to identify changes, anomalies, or new opportunities within the network.
- Maintain departmental records in accordance with established policies, procedures, and audit guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience.
- At least 5 years of combined experience in strategic procurement and logistics/operations.
- Solid experience with all modes of transportation and logistics.
- Understanding of and experience with various rate structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access).
- 3–5 years experience in a sales or business development role with 1–3 years in account management at the national or enterprise level.
- Advanced degree in Logistics or a related field.
- Industry certification (APICS, ISM, etc.).
- Availability to travel 5–10% of the time.
- Experience developing multi‑year strategies, conducting RF(x) activities, and negotiating contracts with multi‑site, regional, or enterprise scope.
- Self‑motivated work style, ability to work independently under tight deadlines, and experience working with minimal direct supervision or in a team environment.
- Proficiency in basic analysis (Excel Pivot Tables, PowerBI, etc.).
- Solid interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
