Job Summary
The Head of Product Strategy, Infrastructure and Connectivity is a pivotal leader responsible for shaping the long‑term strategic direction of the company’s infrastructure and connectivity product portfolio. This role develops a clear multi‑year product vision and strategy grounded in customer needs, market dynamics, technology evolution, competitive positioning, and ongoing analysis of competitor offerings. The position requires a team member who brings expertise in product/market strategy and can serve as a go‑to thought partner for senior leaders in the product business unit, including the Chief Business Officer.
This leadership position sits at the intersection of product, technology, and corporate strategy and is responsible for developing a long‑term outlook for the product business unit, supporting critical decision‑making, and ensuring Equinix maintains a strong competitive edge in both strategy and execution.
- Define and continuously refine the multi‑year strategic direction across infrastructure and connectivity products
- Develop a coherent portfolio strategy spanning physical infrastructure, connectivity, and platform services
- Translate customer requirements, consumption trends, and evolving workload patterns into strategic priorities
- Identify structural industry shifts and ensure product strategy remains future‑oriented and competitively differentiated
- Influence and support product business units in shaping roadmaps and long‑term positioning
- Lead structured market analysis across key customer segments and geographies
- Develop deep insight into competitor strategies, product positioning, and monetization models
- Identify growth opportunities, strategic risks, and whitespace across the portfolio
- Establish systematic market sensing and strategic scenario planning
- Translate product strategy into a multi‑year business outlook aligned with corporate strategy and enterprise planning
- Support definition of growth priorities, portfolio sequencing, and strategic investment areas
- Partner with Finance and Product leadership to align strategy with planning cycles and performance objectives
- Develop prioritization frameworks balancing short‑term performance with long‑term strategic positioning
- Gather and analyze large amounts of information expeditiously; develop compelling and insightful strategic recommendations for leadership, focused on product strategy refinements, customer experience, operational efficiency
- Annual strategic planning process:
Collaborate with senior leaders across functions to set OKRs and support them with initiative design and sequencing - Strategy presentations: CEO and board material creation
- Serve as strategic advisor to Product BU leaders and senior executives
- Lead cross‑functional strategic initiatives impacting product portfolio evolution and growth
- Develop executive‑level materials for leadership, including strategic recommendations, market outlooks, and portfolio positioning
- Drive structured decision‑making through data‑driven analysis and clear strategic framing
- Ensure product portfolio strategy aligns with broader corporate strategy and long‑term growth priorities
- Contribute to enterprise strategic initiatives, including market expansion, ecosystem positioning, and partnership strategy
- Support leadership in assessing long‑term risks, opportunities, and competitive positioning
- Lead and develop a small, high‑caliber product strategy team
- Establish structured approaches to market analysis, strategic planning, and portfolio evaluation
- Foster a culture of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and impact‑driven execution
- 15+ years of experience in product strategy, corporate strategy, business development, or management consulting within digital infrastructure, cloud, networking, or enterprise technology sectors
