THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD. THIS POSITION CAN BE REMOTE. The Business Manager is responsible for forecasting, controlling, and reporting project costs within an organization. The role develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports.
Responsibilities include:
- Review project costs incurred by category, calculate future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontractors, wage rates, and risk analysis.
- Use specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex problems and provide best practices.
- Account for the performance and results of multiple related disciplines or sub-groups within the project controls function.
- Establish priorities for the completion of assigned tasks and direct resources as needed.
- Ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy.
- Manage delivery of functional objectives through leadership and direction to managers or professional staff.
- Participate in the development of project controls strategy; may be responsible for global processes and procedures in estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling.
- Oversee and execute all contract business operations, including interface with Contracting Officer, CO Representative, and Resource Analyst; development/maintenance of business office processes; contract administration, compliance, and interpretation.
- Develop and report customer deliverable financial products; review and analyze actual costs and forecast; approve forecasting rates.
- Perform cost performance analysis, prepare monthly PSR package, cost allocation/account assignment, timesheet auditing, and charging guidance.
- Supplemental pay verification, periodic rate analysis; support annual task order development and pricing activities.
- Prepare and maintain FY Program revenue and profit projections; perform contract margin analysis; approve material procurement requisitions and resolve vendor/invoicing/accrual issues.
- Support internal/external audits and contract compliance activities; keep PM/DPM informed of business-related activities.
- Undergraduate degree; 7+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of FAR and DOW FAR requirements.
- Knowledge of DOW financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Previous managerial experience is a plus.
