Job Summary:
The Operations Supervisor supports the Operations Manager in overseeing the daily functions
of a high-volume spay/neuter clinic. This role ensures smooth clinic operations, efficient patient
flow, adherence to medical and safety protocols, and a positive experience for staff, clients, and
animals. The Operations Supervisor serves as a hands-on leader, helping coordinate staff,
troubleshoot issues,and maintain high standards of care and productivity.
Skills/
Experience:
Required
- 2+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or high-volume spay/neuter
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Comfort handling animals and assisting in clinical procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) programs
- Veterinary technician training or certification
- Experience in nonprofit or shelter medicine
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to animals, noise, and medical environments
- Fast-paced, high-volume surgical setting requiring multitasking

Operations Manager - Supervises:
Veterinary assistants, technicians, and support staff (as assigned)
Clinic Operations
- Assist in managing day-to-day clinic operations, including surgery flow, intake,
- discharge and inventory
- Ensure efficient patient processing to meet daily surgery targets while maintaining quality care
- Provide direct supervision to technicians, assistants, and support staff during assigned shifts
- Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding of new team members
- Reinforce clinic protocols, safety practices, and performance expectations
- Help address staff concerns and elevate issues to the Operations Manager as needed
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Ensure adherence to clinic medical protocols and high-volume spay/neuter best
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all clinic areas
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, DEA, and applicable state regulations
Operations Supervisor – Spay/Neuter Clinic
- Support proper handling, storage, and security of controlled substances in compliance
- Ensure accurate logging, documentation, and reconciliation of controlled drug usage
- Assist in maintaining controlled substance logs, inventory counts, and discrepancy
- Monitor staff adherence to protocols related to controlled drug preparation,
- Immediately report discrepancies, concerns, or potential compliance issues to the
- Help reinforce accountability and best practices to safeguard medications and maintain regulatory compliance
Client Experience
- Support front-house operations to ensure clear communication with pet owners and rescue partners
- Assist with handling client questions, concerns, and escalations professionally
- Help ensure discharge instructions are accurate and clearly explained
- Assist with tracking, stocking, and organizing medical and facility supplies
- Notify Operations Manager of shortages and assist with ordering processes
- Help minimize waste and ensure cost-effective use of resources
- Help track daily surgery numbers, complications, and operational metrics
- Report operational challenges and recommend improvements to the Operations

ensuring patient safety, staff support, and operational compliance. The Operations
