Outside The Lines, Inc. (OTL) is a national design-build specialty contractor focused on water features, fountains, rockwork, and custom themed construction. Our work is technical, hands‑on, and built by teams that take pride in doing things right. We don’t operate with heavy hierarchy or egos. Foremen, Superintendents, and crews work together in the field to build unique projects from start to finish.

ABOUT

THE ROLE

The Foreman is a hands‑on field leader who works directly with the crew while helping the Superintendent execute the work. This is not a stand‑back role. You will be actively building the project, operating equipment, guiding laborers, and keeping daily production moving.

OTL Foremen are trusted leaders on site. You help set the tone, maintain quality, and make sure the crew works safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the field and being part of a tight team.

This position is Texas-based with travel depending on project needs.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Work in the field daily as part of the construction crew
  • Lead and support laborers in day‑to‑day work activities
  • Assist the Superintendent with planning and execution of the work
  • Operate equipment including excavators, skid steers, skipjacks, and trenchers
  • Perform hands‑on construction work including plumbing, underground utilities, and concrete support
  • Help plan daily tasks and keep production on track
  • Read drawings and follow layouts and specifications
  • Ensure work meets OTL quality standards
  • Maintain jobsite safety and enforce OSHA requirements
  • Communicate progress, issues, and needs to the Superintendent
  • Assist with material handling, staging, and jobsite organization
  • Help train and mentor laborers and new crew members
  • Keep the jobsite clean, safe, and organized
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Strong hands‑on construction experience with leadership responsibility
  • Experience working as a Foreman, Lead, or senior craft worker
  • Comfortable leading small crews and working alongside them
  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • Background in plumbing, underground utilities, concrete, or specialty construction preferred
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • Reliable, organized, and team‑oriented
  • Takes pride in quality work and jobsite safety
  • Fluent in English and comfortable taking direction and giving direction
