Construction Manager/ Foreman, Heavy Equipment Operator
Outside The Lines, Inc. (OTL) is a national design-build specialty contractor focused on water features, rockwork, and custom themed construction. This role is based in Texas and requires travel depending on project location.
ABOUTTHE ROLE
This is a true working superintendent position. At OTL, Superintendents are active members of the field team. You will be in the field every day working alongside your Foreman and crew while also leading the overall execution of the project.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, taking ownership of their work, and leading by example. If you prefer managing from a trailer, this position will not be a fit.
WHAT YOUR DAYS LOOK LIKEMost of your time will be spent in the field building the work, coordinating crews and subcontractors, and keeping production moving. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to keep schedules, materials, and communication aligned while maintaining OTL’s standards for quality and safety.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING- Work in the field daily as part of the construction team
- Lead day‑to‑day jobsite operations and production
- Work directly with Foremen and crew members
- Operate heavy equipment including skid steers and excavators
- Plan work, set daily and weekly goals, and track progress
- Use Procore daily for photos, documentation, RFIs, timecards, and communication
- Review drawings, specifications, and perform takeoffs using Bluebeam
- Coordinate subcontractors and self‑perform work
- Maintain jobsite safety and enforce OSHA standards
- Ensure work meets OTL quality expectations
- Complete daily reports, safety documentation, extra work tickets, and percent complete tracking
- Attend jobsite and project meetings as needed
- Manage material ordering, want lists, and equipment planning
- Support training and development of Foremen and crew members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Strong field experience with leadership responsibility
- Background in fountains, pools, plumbing, mechanical systems, or specialty construction preferred
- Hands‑on experience operating heavy equipment
- Proficient with Procore and Bluebeam
- Ability to read and understand construction documents and details
- Organized, reliable, and accountable
- Team‑oriented mindset and strong work ethic
- Fluent in English and comfortable with construction technology
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- OSHA 30 or willingness to obtain
