Overview
Builder Accelerator | Remote (U.S.
-based)
We help people build their first homes from the ground up. That's the business. Ground-up residential construction, guided every step of the way.
Our clients come from all walks of life -- tradespeople, veterans, small business owners, W-2 professionals. They have the drive and the capital. What they don't have is someone who's been through the build process enough times to keep them from making a $300k mistake on their first project.
We're looking for someone who has managed residential new construction firsthand. Not someone interested in real estate. Someone who's lived it -- walked job sites, reviewed bids, dealt with municipalities, and made the kinds of calls that only come from direct experience.
Important:
This is a fully remote position. You will not be visiting job sites or managing builds in person. Your work happens on Zoom calls, in Slack threads, and through Asana task boards. Clients will share their screens, send you photos from the field, and walk you through what they're seeing on-site. Your job is to interpret that information, identify issues, and guide them through decisions from behind the screen.
The experience you bring from years on job sites is exactly what makes you effective in this role -- you just won't be standing on one.
What this role looks like:
You'll work directly with our clients through scheduled calls and ongoing communication. They'll bring you their bids, architectural plans, lot options, and contractor quotes. Your job is to identify what's right, what's wrong, and what's missing before it costs them money.
One conversation might involve specifying drywall finishes. The next might be evaluating whether a lot that's been listed for 99 days is a negotiation opportunity. The one after that might be determining whether a foundation contractor's recommendation to add fill dirt is legitimate.
You'll have answers to all of these. Because you've been through it yourself.
Responsibilities- Review and analyze potential deals with clients -- comparable sales, lot pricing, zoning, and overall project feasibility
- Evaluate construction budgets and trade bids for accuracy, gaps, and red flags
- Advise on subcontractor selection based on experience, pricing, and quality of work
- Guide clients through permitting, inspections, draw schedules, and municipal requirements
- Participate in one-on-one and group calls to provide real-time construction guidance
- Identify risks early -- scope gaps, budget overruns, and timeline issues -- before they escalate
- Manage day-to-day client communication, task tracking, and project coordination through Asana, Slack, and Zoom
- Review photos, videos, and documents shared by clients from their job sites and provide remote direction accordingly
- Direct experience managing residential new construction projects (not limited to renovations or flips)
- Ability to review architectural plans and assess whether incoming bids are reasonable and complete
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, from foundation through final inspections
- Familiarity with hard money lending, construction loan draws, and project financing
- Working knowledge of trade costs -- plumbing, electrical, HVAC, foundation, framing -- based on real-world project experience
- Ability to communicate technical construction concepts clearly to clients with no prior building experience
- Proficiency in Asana, Slack, and Zoom
-- these are the primary tools used daily for project management, client communication, and virtual meetings - Comfortable working remotely and providing guidance without being physically present on job sites
- Current or Previously held general contractor's license in any state
- Familiarity with multiple residential real estate markets
- Background in custom or luxury residential construction ($800K+ projects)
- Established relationships with subcontractors, architects, or suppliers that could benefit our clients
Competitive and based on experience. This begins as a contract position with a clear path to full-time based on performance and mutual fit.
- If you've built homes and can walk someone through the process with clarity and confidence -- without needing to be on-site to do it -- we'd like to hear from you.
