STAR is currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator for a long-term opportunity with one of our valued electrical contracting clients in the Dallas region. This role serves as the primary safety supervisor for active jobsites and plays a critical part in protecting field personnel, supporting leadership, and strengthening overall safety culture.
Position Overview
The Safety Coordinator works closely with the project management team to plan, direct, train, communicate, and execute all jobsite safety efforts. This role also supports oversight of subcontractors as required and ensures full compliance with OSHA and client safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with supervision on project safety implementation at all levels of the jobsite
• Complete daily safety assessments
• Recommend strategies to improve processes and strengthen safety culture
• Communicate effectively with Safety and HR leadership regarding project safety matters
• Provide mentorship and direction to field personnel
• Participate in required safety committees and project meetings
• Investigate incidents thoroughly and assist with reporting documentation
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations and training
• Identify situations requiring immediate corrective action
• Interact professionally with general contractors, owners, trades, and clients
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, company, and client safety requirements
• Investigate motor vehicle incidents
• Assist with toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ongoing training initiatives
• Utilize testing equipment and properly document results
• Complete additional assigned duties as needed
Qualifications:
• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction and industrial safety regulations
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Strong communication skills with the ability to speak confidently to groups
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
