Construction Assistant Project Manager
Scott Humphrey has partnered with a large and reputable general contractor to assist in finding a Construction Assistant Project Manager for their headquarters in Dallas. As a Construction Assistant Project Manager, you will be an integral part of a team that oversees the construction of Commercial/multifamily new construction; project quality control, subcontractor coordination, daily logs/project documentation, safety, and inspections.
Job Description- Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in providing overall administrative, financial, and technical direction.
- Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contract, design, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Develop and maintain material tracking logs.
- Research, develop, and write detailed RFIs.
- Coordinate with the Design team for efficient responses to submittals and RFIs.
- Present at weekly project status meetings.
- Assist with project forecasting and month‑end financial reporting.
- Manage changes and ensure proper distribution of construction documents and/or project scope so that the most current documents are used.
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure materials are available when needed on site.
- Review and verify the constructability of plans and specifications.
- Contribute to the buy‑out process by requesting and reviewing bids and aligning budgets as necessary to create subcontracts.
- Perform detailed review and processing of project submittals.
- 3 years of commercial new construction experience as a Construction Assistant Project Manager, with emphasis on Commercial Construction – School, Healthcare, Office build‑out, and light industrial projects.
- Positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Knowledge and understanding of current project types, building codes, contract documents, insurance and bonding concepts, OSHA compliance, etc.
- Preconstruction and estimating experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills to include MS Excel, Word, and Project, as well as Blue Beam Revu, Procore, Adobe Acrobat, Textura, and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to work long, unsupervised hours, including during “off hours” and/or weekends.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain events, extreme hot and cold.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages of construction.
- Ensure project completion on‑time and on‑budget.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
