Field Engineer – Heavy Civil / Site Development

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, United States (On-site)

Industry: Construction / Heavy Civil / Site Development

Job Function: Field Engineering / Construction Operations

Seeking a Field Engineer with experience in heavy civil and site development construction to support field operations on commercial, industrial, and infrastructure site preparation projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This role will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to assist with scheduling, documentation, quality control, subcontractor coordination, and daily construction activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support field operations for site development projects including earthwork, grading, excavation, utilities, paving, and storm drainage.
  • Assist with project scheduling, daily reports, quantity tracking, and production monitoring.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, survey crews, inspectors, and project teams to maintain workflow and project schedules.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to support field execution.
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, material deliveries, and as-built documentation.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and project reporting.
  • Verify layout, elevations, and installation activities in coordination with survey and field crews.
  • Monitor project quality and ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with utility coordination including water, sewer, storm drain, and underground infrastructure installations.
  • Participate in project meetings, inspections, and progress updates with owners, engineers, and municipal representatives.
  • Support punch list completion and project closeout activities.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and civil construction operations.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and field layout.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced field environments and travel to project sites as needed.
