Construction Manager – Dallas, TX

We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the planning, directing, and coordinating of construction and installation projects involving our relay panels, switch gear, and enclosures. The role involves ensuring compliance with internal quality & safety policies, labor requirements, and government regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the hiring process for assigned staff.
  • Interpret specifications and company policies to subordinates and/or contractors while enforcing safety regulations.
  • Conduct inspections, complete environmental and engineering reports, obtain permits, and establish building budgets.
  • Coordinate with client or site owner to maintain contact with insurance carriers, fire protection, police departments, and other agencies to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Consult with the project manager to review building budget and determine the scope of work required.
  • Evaluate scope of work for plan procedures, start and completion dates, and staffing requirements for each construction phase.
  • Estimate the scope of work and obtain a minimum of three bids for comparison and completion of each job as necessary.
  • Hire, direct, and motivate supervisory personnel, subcontractors, and staff engaged in planning and executing work procedures.
  • Receive and resolve work problems, including worker complaints and/or grievances.
  • Inspect installation methods and projects at various stages to ensure compliance with specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Initiate repair or replacement needs and adjust working procedures as required.
  • Regularly communicate with the project team regarding unit and property improvement status.
  • Serve as jobsite representative for Crown Technical Systems.
  • Assist in identifying and qualifying subcontractors required for the project, including all site and building trades.
  • Monitor and ensure schedule performance and quality workmanship of internal installation team.
  • Work closely with contractors, electrical & mechanical engineers, and partners to develop site‑specific value engineering options.
  • Review and approve contractor payment requests as appropriate.
  • Attend local meetings, approval meetings, and conferences on behalf of clients, documenting and taking action on items in CTS’ interests.
  • Review contractual obligations to ensure the installation team meets requirements while controlling project cost.
  • Coordinate with onsite and construction personnel to ensure accuracy of close‑out or invoicing documents.
  • Serve as an information resource by coordinating installation work, participating in meetings, resolving disputes, providing feedback, and coordinating project punch list and close‑out.
  • Coordinate deliveries with trucking and crane companies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or 5 to 7 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing multiple field installation crews.
  • Logistics experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
  • Hands‑on mechanical planning and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact professionally and effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
