Senior Pre-construction Estimator What You Will Do
- Lead estimating process by preparing detailed cost estimates for data center projects and campuses at various project stages.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates. Assess labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing in various markets.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external project teams, including project management teams, designers and construction managers to gather and verify cost-related information, and identify and mitigate potential development challenges.
- Provide recommendations on design alternatives to control costs while maintaining project quality.
- Stay abreast of construction industry trends, material prices, and labor costs in various markets to provide the most accurate estimates and cost projections.
- Maintain database of current development costs and develop policies and procedures for accurate and timely cost estimating and record keeping.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture; or relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Pro Est).
- Advanced proficiency in construction documents.
- Ability to work within dynamic and diverse team and environment.
- Ability to lead and mentor others.
- Seven or more years of experience in preconstruction estimating or construction management.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Understanding of data center mechanical and electrical topologies.
- Ten or more years of experience in preconstruction estimating or construction management preferred.
- Prior experience in a leadership or management role a plus.
- Large infrastructure projects.
