We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in identifying opportunities, developing competitive estimates, and supporting the continued growth of the company.
Role DescriptionThe Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals for construction projects. The successful candidate will review plans and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor pricing, analyze project risks, and prepare comprehensive bid packages.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple bid opportunities simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
Responsibilities- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and solicitation documents.
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates.
- Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Develop bid packages, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- Identify labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze project risks and recommend pricing strategies.
- Coordinate with project management staff during project turnover.
- Participate in bid reviews and estimate presentations with company leadership.
- Maintain estimating databases, subcontractor contacts, and historical cost information.
- Monitor bid opportunities and assist with proposal development efforts.
- Support preconstruction activities and other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience with a general contractor.
- Experience estimating federal, military, municipal, or commercial construction projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

$90,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Eligible for annual performance-based bonus opportunities.
