MEP Construction Project Manager – Data Center – Dallas, TX

This opportunity is working directly with a leading mission‑critical data center developer / provider. This company provides turnkey data center solutions for High Performance Computing (HPC) to custom‑fit to the requirements of its client’s ever‑changing mission‑critical facility’s operational needs. They accomplish this by ensuring reliability of mission‑critical facilities for many of the world’s largest organizations (Hyperscale and Enterprise Customers). We are looking for a Data Center Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Construction PM will be responsible for all aspects of managing a data center construction project, including providing leadership to contractors and vendors associated with the delivery of company projects. The candidate will oversee the delivery of assigned projects on budget and on time, ensuring that the project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and project objectives.

The successful candidate must be highly organized and proficient in back‑office work (change orders, budgets, paperwork, etc.).

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors to manage day‑to‑day activities impacting the delivery of company’s critical facilities construction projects.
  • Ensure that all day‑to‑day project responsibilities are met by contractors and vendors on the project.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary.
  • Responsible for creating and managing project schedules.
  • Put together project plans – sizing up costs, budgets, scheduling, timelines, and managing change orders as required.
  • Assist with reporting and RFPs to contractors.
  • Deliver Build‑to‑Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value‑engineering.
  • Drive company standards uniformly as they pertain to project delivery by all participants on all projects.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Represent the company in project meetings.
  • Know best construction practices and be able to apply them to vendors or push back when necessary.
  • Act as key liaison with managers of all company departments.
  • Maintain all logs required to track project progress.
  • Possess an extensive network within the mission‑critical data center facilities market.
  • Background in critical facilities design, architecture, engineering, and construction services.
Qualifications:
  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an owner, a general contractor, or from a trade.
  • Previous DC construction projects supporting Hyperscale level Power 100 MW and above.
  • Minimum of 3 to 8+ years of relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
  • Budget and P/L experience.
  • Client‑facing / client relationship / client management skills.
  • Willingness to travel to the project site.
  • 50% travel required.
  • Preference for relocation candidates.
  • Familiarity with the design process of building systems for data centers and mission‑critical projects.
  • Solid construction project management experience.
  • Effective communicator – emails, phone, and face‑to‑face.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Solid administrative skills.
  • Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD – a plus.
