Project Manager, Civil Engineering, Operations Manager

Overview

A leading Texas-based civil contractor with a growing presence in the data center construction market is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee civil scopes on hyperscale and mission-critical projects in the Dallas market. The successful candidate will be locally based, with flexibility to travel to other project sites as the portfolio continues to develop.

• Base salary up to $170,000 DOE

• Lead full project lifecycle delivery from pre-construction through closeout on civil data center scopes, including site preparation, earthworks, and underground utilities
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and cost controls - tracking spend, forecasting costs, and reporting to senior leadership
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, scoping, and day-to-day performance across all civil trades
• Coordinate with GCs, owners, engineers, and design teams to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and quality expectations
• Lead weekly OAC and subcontractor meetings, producing accurate and timely reporting
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders through to resolution
• Ensure all work is executed in compliance with project specifications, local codes, and safety standards
• Identify and mitigate project risks early
• Support estimating and preconstruction teams on future bids and pursuits within the data center sector
• Mentor and develop APMs and field supervision staff

• Minimum 10 years of project management experience in civil construction
• Data center project experience is mandatory
• Extensive knowledge of underground wet utilities including water, sewer, storm drainage, and fire suppression systems
• Strong earthwork background - mass grading, excavation, soil stabilization, and ductbank installation
• Proven ability to manage projects valued at $10M+
• Experience managing self-perform crews
• Proficiency in project management and scheduling software - Procore, Primavera P6, or equivalent
• Based in Dallas with willingness to travel to other project on the Gulf Coast
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred - equivalent experience considered
