Overview

Superintendent – Site Development & Heavy Civil Construction

Location:

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily field operations for site development and site preparation projects including earthwork, grading, excavation, underground utilities, paving, and storm drainage.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and field crews to maintain project schedules and productivity.
  • Lead site safety efforts and enforce OSHA standards, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, inspectors, survey crews, and owners to ensure successful project execution.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and work plans to ensure work is completed according to contract requirements.
  • Monitor production, manpower, equipment utilization, and material deliveries to maintain efficient field operations.
  • Oversee underground utility installations including water, sewer, storm drain, and detention systems.
  • Conduct daily meetings, safety briefings, and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.
  • Maintain daily reports, site documentation, punch lists, and progress updates.
  • Support inspections, testing, and quality control activities throughout all phases of construction.
  • Assist with project closeout activities including final walkthroughs and turnover coordination.
Your Profile
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil, site development, or infrastructure construction.
  • Strong field leadership experience managing earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and civil construction operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing fast-paced construction sites.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and heavy equipment operations.
  • Proficient with construction management software such as Procore, HCSS, Bluebeam, or Microsoft Office preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
