What Will You Do:
- Prepare clear and concise Class 2 and Class 3 cost estimates by utilizing internal mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering scope, internal and external scope developed for all building construction trades, available site descriptions or survey depending upon estimate level, subcontractor cost data obtained for a specific project's location, and a defined estimating method with proprietary tools that employs an engineered approach to cost development.
- Be able to provide itemized cost and documented assumptions and risks for evaluating both internal estimates and eventual subcontractor bid.
- Provide constructability guidance to project participants.
- Provide procurement and tender support during development and construction.
- Develop the following levels of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Building Construction estimates:
Rough Order of Magnitude/Preliminary/Request for Proposal Estimates, Conceptual Estimate, Estimate Grade Design (EGD), and Construction level. - Frequently required to perform on-site survey to assess constructability options, means and methods.
- Obtain vendor and subcontractor budget quotes and verify proposed scopes.
- If possible, determine phasing and constructability with the project team and submit estimates for review.
- Interact with Operations, Engineering and Sales groups throughout estimating process.
- Prioritize estimates to meet sales schedule through use of documentation as well as direct communication.
