Civil Engineering, Site Manager
Position Overview
At Kiewit, our most successful projects are won and delivered in the field—not from behind a desk. We’re looking for a Field BIM / VDC Manager who wants to be on‑site with superintendents, project engineers, and craft, using models and data to solve real construction challenges before they impact schedule, cost, or safety. If you believe BIM and VDC should drive how work is installed, not just how it’s designed, this role is for you.
LocationIdeally working on‑site either in Santa Teresa, New Mexico or Abilene, Texas to support a large‑scale Data Center project the next 2-3 years.
Responsibilities- Partner directly with superintendents, field engineers, and project managers to support construction planning and installation
- Leverage BIM/VDC tools to drive:
- Constructability reviews
- Clash detection and resolution
- Work packaging and installation sequencing
- 4D planning and logistics modeling
- Coordinate with engineering, trade partners, and vendors to ensure models reflect means, methods, and real‑world conditions
- Support field layout, model‑based quantity takeoffs, and fabrication workflows
- Champion model accuracy from design through installation—closing the gap between “what’s modeled” and “what’s built”
- Train and support field teams on how to use BIM as a construction tool, not just a visualization
- Identify opportunities where digital tools can improve safety, productivity, and schedule certainty
We’re open to different career paths—as long as you understand construction and know how to use BIM/VDC to support it.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or BIM
- 3+ years of professional experience in a BIM / VDC capacity preferably on the construction side
- Experience in construction‑focused BIM/VDC, preferably on large EPC or industrial projects
- Strong working knowledge of tools such as Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 / ACC, and construction coordination platforms
- Proven ability to work alongside field leadership and craft
- Understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works, and installation constraints
- Comfort operating in fast‑paced, site‑driven environments
- Willingness to be on‑site, travel, or relocate based on project needs
Field experience, trade exposure, or time spent supporting installation teams is a major plus.

- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment

- May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
