We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join a growing team specializing in interior finish-out and light commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for private and municipal projects, with a strong emphasis on hospitality and restaurant construction. The ideal candidate will have extensive estimating experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage the entire bidding process from concept through project handoff.
RequiredQualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator for a General Contractor
- Hospitality and restaurant estimating experience is required
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, practices, and procedures
- Understanding of site development including earthwork, utilities, and concrete work
- General knowledge of wood, steel, and masonry construction
- Ability to interpret and evaluate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Proficiency in reading and analyzing construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience identifying required trades, subcontractors, and vendors for project execution
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn estimating software and bidding platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license required
- Successful completion of a background check required prior to employment
- previous experience as a Superintendent or Field Engineer
- Experience with municipal construction project
- Ability to develop conceptual estimates from limited project information
- Prepare detailed and competitive estimates for commercial construction project
- Develop budgets for negotiated project
- Create conceptual estimates for prospective clients based on limited drawings or information
- Review plans, specifications, and project requirement
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visit
- Determine project scope and identify required subcontractors and supplier
- Source materials and solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractor
- Prepare and distribute bid package
- Post projects on bidding platforms and manage bid solicitation effort
- Analyze and qualify subcontractor and supplier proposal
- Complete bid forms and submit proposals within deadline
- Maintain organized project files, bid documentation, and estimating record
- Communicate regularly with clients, landlords, architects, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project tea
- Manage assigned projects throughout the entire estimating and budgeting process
- Participate in estimate review meetings prior to bid submission
- Conduct project handoff meetings upon award and transition projects to the project management.
- Provide ongoing support to project managers as needed throughout project execute
