Associate Director
- Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor

Full‑time position. This role can be performed remotely, with a preference for candidates based in the Dallas‑Fort‑Worth area. Travel to project sites and the Turner & Townsend office will be required.
Responsibilities- Lead a cost management team and ensure delivery across large, complex construction programs.
- Act as the primary interface with the client, stakeholders, and consultants at all project stages, especially for hyperscale and high‑density infrastructure developments.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients and consultants throughout all phases of delivery.
- Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management activities across the full project lifecycle, including large campus developments with significant MEP and infrastructure scope.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with contractors, owner representatives, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment across complex, multi‑site construction programs.
- Coordinate and assist with the strategic and operational management of Cost Management and Project Controls Services across mission‑critical and data center sectors.
- Serve as the first point of contact for reporting on the overall commercial status of projects involving high‑value construction and infrastructure investment.
- Drive Turner & Townsend best practices across all project stages, including projects utilizing modern construction techniques such as modular delivery and advanced cooling systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost management procedures, processes, templates, and products in line with evolving market demands.
- Conduct staff performance reviews and establish clear team strategy and direction.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering growth and high performance.
- Ensure excellence in leadership and service delivery across all commissions.
- Manage financial aspects, including tracking margin, forecasting resources, and reporting across multiple large‑scale projects.
- Develop priority plans including risk mitigation strategies and performance tracking through KPIs and internal systems.
- Implement and maintain Business Management Systems and delivery methodologies to ensure consistent best practice.
- Support internal and external audit processes where required.
- Develop a strong understanding of the construction market, particularly in rapidly expanding sectors such as data centers and critical infrastructure, and act as a brand ambassador.
- Advise on contracting and procurement strategies to optimize outcomes across large‑scale capital programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and cross‑functional teams.
- Participate in leadership meetings and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project status, staffing, and initiatives, proposing solutions and gaining alignment with leadership teams.
- Identify and act upon business development and cross‑selling opportunities.
- Support proposal development and responses for new project opportunities.
- Ensure knowledge capture and continuous improvement across all commissions.
- Attend relevant industry and networking events.
- Promote a collaborative culture that delivers strong outcomes for people, clients, and stakeholders.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in cost management within the construction industry.
- Experience supporting large‑scale, complex construction projects (data centers or mission‑critical preferred).
- Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
- SME in Quantity Surveying, with RICS certification or equivalent accreditation.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and organizational communication skills.
