Scott Humphrey has partnered with a large and reputable general contractor to assist in finding a Project Manager for their headquarters in Dallas, TX. This is an opportunity to work with a highly respected firm focused on delivering high-quality large scale commercial projects with a strong emphasis on client service, execution, and team collaboration.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery across scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
hands‑on leader who can effectively manage field teams, maintain strong documentation practices, and uphold high standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Project Setup & Pre‑construction- Coordinate project setup with accounting
- Review subcontractor scopes vs. estimate and identify any gaps
- Issue subcontract agreements and request submittals
- Manage permitting process, including city coordination and tracking approval timelines
- Develop and adjust project schedules based on permit status and material lead times
- Lead weekly meetings with clients, tenants, and subcontractors (including detailed meeting minutes)
- Maintain Autodesk (or similar platform) logs for submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
- Manage project schedule updates and ensure milestones are met
- Oversee change orders, including pricing, documentation, and approvals
- Collaborate closely with the Superintendent on field execution
- Visit job sites weekly
- Support inspections and Certificate of Occupancy process
- Verify layouts for structural, MEP, and finish components
- Step in to support field operations as needed
- Maintain accurate project documentation across all platforms (Autodesk, MS Project, Sage, etc.)
- Prepare weekly progress reports, including photo documentation
- Track RFIs, change orders, and schedule updates
- Lead quality control efforts and ensure compliance with plans and specs
- Conduct pre‑punch and final punch walks with clients
- Ensure projects are move‑in ready at turnover
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and PPE compliance
- Complete closeout documentation within required timelines
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
- Experience with ground‑up/interior finish‑out / tenant improvement projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor management
- Proficiency with construction management software (Autodesk, MS Project, Sage or similar)
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
