Form Setter Lead

Position Summary

This position is accountable for directing activities of workers concerned with building and setting forms made of wood, metal, vinyl, and other materials in accordance with customer specifications (plans).

The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor.

• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction based on starting and completion times for specific phases.
• Assemble members of a crew at the start of a project.
• Collaborate with the supervisor on orders for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
• Confers with and assists the superintendent in the supervision of personnel engaged in executing work procedures.
• Interpretation of plans and specifications and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
• Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
• Confers with supervisors, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
• Inspects work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules.
• Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
• Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
• Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long-lasting use.
• All employees must maintain confidentiality by not disclosing confidential, proprietary, or trade secret information belonging to the Company.
• Responsible and accountable for personal safety and for the safety of all co-workers and others encountered on the job.
• Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task when an unsafe condition is anticipated or observed.
• Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies and procedures, and may be subject to disciplinary action for non-compliance.
• Reports any violations of applicable laws, regulations, or Company policies and procedures promptly and may be subject to disciplinary action for failure to do so.
• Performs other related administrative and technical duties as assigned by immediate supervision (e.g., certification training, safety training, procedure review, etc.).

• Minimum of three years of experience finishing concrete structures and pier foundations, setting steel preformed forming systems, and pouring concrete.
• Experience directing others within a small work unit executing work procedures.
• Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Basic computer literacy is needed.
• Be able to work in constant change in weather and site conditions.
• Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and perform other similar activities as needed.

The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.

The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.
