Senior Structured Cabling Estimator

Our client, a leading electrical contractor in Texas, is seeking an experienced Senior Structured Cabling Estimator to support the pursuit and delivery of complex technology infrastructure projects across commercial and mission critical markets.

This role partners closely with business development, operations, vendors, and clients to develop accurate cost estimates, evaluate project scope, and help position projects for successful execution. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of structured cabling systems, estimating best practices, and technology infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed labor and material estimates for structured cabling and technology infrastructure projects.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and RFP documents to develop complete project pricing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze project scope to ensure accurate estimates.
• Develop RFIs and identify scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, and potential project risks.
• Collaborate with manufacturers, distributors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Prepare scopes of work, proposal documentation, and bid packages.
• Support conceptual budgeting and early-stage project cost modeling.
• Conduct site visits and field assessments as needed.
• Coordinate closely with project management and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoff.
• Assist with change order pricing, project documentation, and technical submittals.
• Maintain current knowledge of structured cabling products, industry standards, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience within structured cabling, low voltage, or technology infrastructure construction.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and network cabling.
• Experience estimating projects ranging from $1M to $5M+.
• Working knowledge of BICSI, ANSI/TIA, and related industry standards.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

Preferred Experience

• RCDD certification strongly preferred.

• Field installation experience is a plus.
• Exposure to security, access control, audio/visual, or related low-voltage systems is beneficial.
