Role Overview The Detailer II supports construction projects through the creation, coordination, and management of shop drawings, BIM modeling, and MEP systems. The role produces shop drawings for mechanical systems, equipment room layouts, and detail drawings, and maintains project documentation so information can be retrieved and understood across the project team.
Building on foundational detailing experience, the Detailer II provides MEP coordination and 3D modeling using BIM, helps reduce the time and cost tied to clash detection, and collaborates with design and build teams to eliminate construction errors caused by design flaws.
Core Responsibilities
Provides support on construction projects including receiving, logging, tracking, expediting and distribution of shop drawings, RFI's and other construction project documentation.Creates shop drawings for mechanical systems in construction projects.Creates equipment, room layout and detail drawings.Maintains a protocol of documents in such a way that information can be retrieved and understood by others.Achieves reduced time/costs related to potential errors of clash detection.Provides MEP coordination.Provides 3D modeling using BIM.Attends and participates in construction and other meetings as required.Collaborates with design and build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws.Required Background
High School or GED and 2 years of related experience or trade apprentice program completionGood verbal and written communication skills.Ability to write, edit and proofread content.Good understanding of craftAbility to read and interpret basic construction documentsCurrent knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methodsAttention to detailAbility to coordinate projectsKnowledge of applicable AEC, BIM, CAD software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD)Compensation & Perks
