Role Overview The Detailer I supports construction projects through the creation, coordination, and management of shop drawings, BIM modeling, and MEP systems. Working under the direction of more experienced detailers, the role produces basic plumbing and piping shop drawings, maintains organized project documentation, and assists with clash detection and MEP coordination.
This is an entry point into the detailing career path. The Detailer I collaborates with design and build teams, participates in construction and project meetings, and builds proficiency in Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD while contributing to project efficiency and accuracy.
Core Responsibilities
Provides basic support on construction projects including receiving, logging, tracking, expediting and distribution of shop drawings, and other construction project documentation.Creates basic shop drawings.Maintains a protocol of documents in such a way that information can be retrieved and understood by others.Achieves reduced time/costs related to potential errors of clash detection.Provides MEP coordination.Provides basic 3D modeling using BIM.Attends and participates in construction and other meetings as required.Collaborates with design and build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws.Required Background
High School or GED and 2 years of detailing experience or currently enrolled in trade apprenticeship programBasic verbal and written communication skills.Ability to write, edit and proofread content.Basic understanding of craftAbility to read and interpret basic construction documentsCurrent knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methodsAttention to detailBasic knowledge of applicable AEC, BIM, CAD software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD)This role is available to candidates located near our active Texas locations/sites, including Carrollton, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, Waco, Corpus Christi, and AustinCompensation & Perks
