Overview / About the JobWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Superintendent to manage the day-to-day field operations of our K-12 construction projects. As a Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead ground-up and major renovation projects ranging from $1M to $25M+, with opportunities to oversee increasingly complex, high-visibility educational campuses exceeding $50M in value.
As a leader on-site, you will bring a positive, solution-oriented mindset and help elevate the entire team through clear communication, accountability, and collaboration.
- Maintain Daily On-site Presence and control of on-site operations
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for K-12 projects
- Direct, document and coordinate all field construction activities
- Supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff
- Daily communication with Project Manager about schedule, progress, etc.
- Daily/weekly attendance at internal team meetings regarding project status
- Lead daily safety huddles / foreman meetings
- Conduct weekly Subcontractor coordination meetings
- Conduct weekly all hands toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Conduct Pull Plan Preconstruction meeting with all trades prior to start of project
- Develop and Enforce Project Schedule, 3-Week Lookahead, and sequencing of all trades
- Identify and mitigate schedule risks
- Drive subcontractor accountability for milestones
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures, including Site Specific Safety Plan and SPA’s
- Implement student and staff separation protocols
- Ensure compliance with background checks and badging requirements for school campuses
- Conduct and maintain Trade Specific Preinstallation checklist and pre-installation meetings
- Oversee all on-site testing and inspections and maintain inspection records and signoffs
- Ensure work meets plans, specs, district standards, and general K-12 construction standards
- Maintain high standards for finishes and durability
- Document daily construction activities, progress, and any significant events
- Manage closeout punch lists and corrective work
- Manage on-site material deliveries and inventory
