Assistant Superintendent Job Purpose

The Assistant Superintendent will work with the Superintendent or immediate supervisor to prepare the project's work schedule. This involves setting up the exact time workers are expected to start work at the beginning of the work day as well as scheduling when specific goods should be delivered to the construction site.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interpret construction documents, plans and specifications
  • Manage and motivate the workforce while understanding and applying Core Values
  • Maintain and distribute the construction documents to the entire project team, including Plans, Specifications, RFI’s, Bulletins, and Field Reports
  • Help create and distribute daily and weekly work plans to the project team, including schedules and logistics plans
  • Monitor and enforce OSHA and safety policies and procedures
  • Assist with schedule development and adherence for respective scopes of work
  • Participate in a project’s layout and field engineering
  • Develop and maintain Daily Reports
  • Identify and learn Lean Construction Practices/Principles
  • Responsible for managing layout and confirming and verifying the correctness of field dimensions
  • Understand and Utilize Bluebeam basics
Technical Skills Requirements
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Procore Knowledge and Experience
  • Read and Interpret Plans and Specs
  • Bluebeam Experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite Experience
  • Presentation Skills
  • Understand Construction Law
Qualifications
  • 1-4 years of relevant construction experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Superior communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and manage cross‑functional teams
