Position Summary
The GOR Group is seeking a General Superintendent
on behalf of our client to lead field execution across multiple large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. This senior field leadership role provides oversight across Project Superintendents, field teams, clients, scopes of work, and construction phases.
Partnering closely with the Project Executive and Construction Executive, the General Superintendent is accountable for safety, quality, schedule, and field execution strategy across the project portfolio. This leader serves as the primary field authority, ensuring effective trade coordination with a strong emphasis on MEP integration, commissioning readiness, and reliable project delivery.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Project Oversight- Provide overall field leadership across multiple concurrent data center projects, overseeing Project Superintendents and field teams.
- Drive execution through all construction phases, ensuring alignment with project goals, self-performed work (SPW) requirements, and client expectations.
- Assess project health, identify execution challenges, and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with Project Executives and Construction Executives to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Lead coordination and execution of complex mission-critical systems, including electrical distribution, cooling infrastructure, generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and redundancy systems.
- Ensure building systems are integrated to meet uptime, commissioning, and performance requirements.
- Partner with commissioning agents and trade partners to drive readiness, testing, and turnover.
- Develop execution strategies that support prefabrication, modularization, and accelerated project delivery.
- Lead detailed constructability reviews focused on sequencing, site logistics, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and implement business unit execution strategies, including staffing, project phasing, pull planning, and resource allocation.
- Align trade partners around project schedules, critical path activities, and key milestones.
- Attract, lead, mentor, and develop Project Superintendents and field staff across multiple scopes and construction phases.
- Establish clear expectations for field execution, safety, quality, and performance.
- Partner with Field Operations leadership to strengthen the Project Superintendent development program.
- Foster accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across field teams.
- Develop and oversee master project schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
- Ensure schedule alignment and accountability across trade partners and internal teams.
- Identify schedule risks early and adjust sequencing, staffing, and resources to maintain delivery commitments.
- Champion our client's safety-first culture and drive strong safety performance across all project activities.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and inspection protocols.
- Implement and enforce company procedures for safety, quality, and project controls.
- Lead adoption of field technologies, including building information modeling (BIM) coordination, digital document management, and Bluebeam.
- Support advanced construction methods, including prefabrication and digital coordination, to improve field efficiency and execution.
- Support pursuits, client presentations, and business development efforts within the data center and mission-critical market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Represent our client as a trusted partner in delivering complex, high-profile construction projects.
- 15+ years of construction experience, including significant experience in data center and mission-critical projects.
- Proven success leading multiple large, complex data center projects simultaneously, with multiple concurrent work streams.
- Deep knowledge of structural systems, building envelopes, and complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Extensive experience managing self-performed work.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- LEED Green Associate credential preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple Superintendents and large field teams across complex projects.
- Proven track record of exceptional safety performance.
- Advanced scheduling expertise using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
- Strong experience with BIM coordination, Bluebeam, and field technology platforms.
- Deep understanding of commissioning processes and mission-critical system integration.
