Job Summary:

Provides senior-level expertise in evaluating bid packages and potential subcontractors across projects by applying annual prequalification submissions and subcontractor performance insights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with the subcontractor community by developing awareness of performance history, current workload, prequalification status changes, and entity structures, and by supporting subcontractor outreach efforts in coordination with local prequalification liaisons.
  • Guides and advises Preconstruction and Operations teams on subcontractor prequalification and default risk mitigation during buyout, including support of procurement strategies, subcontractor bidder lists, and development and implementation of risk mitigation plans.
  • Serves as a senior advisor to project teams through the prequalification exception and Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) carrier referral processes, including advising on risk mitigation plan development, reviewing exception documentation, and supporting carrier approval requirements when thresholds are exceeded.
  • Monitors implementation of subcontractor risk mitigation plans across projects and promotes accountability by identifying non-compliance trends and associated risk impacts.
  • Reviews annual prequalification compliance for subcontractors on active projects and partners with the National Prequalification Team to support renewals and follow-up actions as needed.
  • Participates in project risk assessments and reviews project status information to identify subcontractor performance concerns, reserve impacts, and fee erosion, and advises teams on managing subcontractor default risk using established systems, processes, and tools.
  • Serves as a subject matter resource for subcontractor risk transfer tools, including payment and performance bonds, contractual provisions, letters of credit, and default coverage approaches, and shares insights with Risk Management, Preconstruction, Core Construction, and Enterprise Corporate Services to strengthen enterprise risk practices.
Education

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, finance, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
  • 8–10 years of experience evaluating subcontractor prequalification submissions, bid packages, and performance within construction or project-based environments required.
  • 2–4 years of experience working with construction contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, or related agreements preferred.
  • Experience in construction operational risk awareness preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with project teams in a construction or professional services environment required.
