Owner’s Representative / Construction Project Manager

Location: Dallas, TX — approximately 20% travel to Austin

Employment Type: 1099, with potential to transition to full-time W-2

About the Company

A vertically integrated construction and development firm based in Dallas is seeking an experienced Owner’s Representative / Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple active development and construction projects across Texas.

The role will act on behalf of ownership and serve as a key liaison with General Contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders, ensuring projects remain on schedule, on budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Projects

The successful candidate will have responsibility across three primary projects:

  • 350,000 SF Commercial Office Build-Out — Dallas: Owner-side oversight of a large-scale commercial office build-out, working closely with the GC and project team.
  • Mixed-Use Development — Dallas: Predevelopment and demolition phase for a new mixed‑use facility, helping manage the transition into construction.
  • Multifamily Development — Austin: Owner’s representative for a multifamily project on a suburban surface parking site.

The role will be approximately 80% Dallas / 20% Austin

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary Owner’s Representative across assigned projects.
  • Liaise with GCs, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, costs, change orders, and overall progress.
  • Hold GCs accountable for schedule, quality, and contractual obligations.
  • Attend project and construction meetings and conduct regular site visits.
  • Identify and resolve construction, schedule, and cost issues.
  • Review pay applications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to ownership and senior leadership.
  • Support projects through predevelopment, construction, and closeout.
Ideal Candidate
  • 7+ years of relevant construction/project management experience preferred.
  • Experience as an Owner’s Rep, Construction Manager, Project Manager, Superintendent, or similar.
  • Strong commercial, multifamily, or mixed‑use construction experience.
  • Proven experience managing and communicating with General Contractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, contracts, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects.
  • Willingness to travel between Dallas and Austin.
