RESPONSIBILITIES
Community:
Junior Achievement (JA) of Dallas is seeking a motivated and organized Event Assistant Intern to support our JA Career Days. This position is ideal for a student interested in event coordination, marketing, and nonprofit program management. The intern will assist in executing smooth, impactful events for students by capturing photos, gathering testimonials, and managing key logistical tasks.
Hybrid work for this role is defined as working from your home location (remotely) a few days a week, and on-site at the JA office or at an Event as your office a few days a week depending on Event schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Support:
Attend JA Career Day events to capture high-quality photos and gather testimonials from students, teachers, and volunteers.
Assist with checking in attendees and ensuring event runs smoothly.
Support the setup and breakdown of event spaces as needed.
Marketing & Media:
Edit videos from events for use in promotional materials and on social media platforms.
Assist with creating marketing materials for JA Career Days, including flyers, email templates, and social media posts.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content that highlights the impact of JA Career Days.
Administrative Tasks:
Send reminder emails to teachers, volunteers, and participants prior to events.
Track attendance and gather event feedback for future improvements.
Help maintain organized event documentation and digital assets.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a student at DeVry University (focus in Marketing, Communications, Event Planning, or related field preferred).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, iMovie) and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) is a plus.

Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position. Must be an enrolled student at DeVry/Keller.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
FWS fund eligible.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed, motivated individuals.
