Purpose: To serve PHPC by producing effective internal and external communications for the church and providing AV needs. This position is responsible for following all policies and core processes that embody the PHPC Core Values.
Accountability: The Coordinator of Media and Technology shall be directly responsible to the Director of Worship and the Staff Committee. They will also report to the Communications Specialist for various projects while maintaining communication with the Director of Worship. The Director of Worship will review the Coordinator of Media and Technology's performance in accordance with procedures established by the Staff Committee.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
A.Worship and Event Production- Oversee and operate audio, video, and lighting systems for all worship services and church events.
- Provide AV support for weddings, memorials, concerts, guest speakers, and other programs.
- Manage live streaming, video broadcasting, and post-production of all content.
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to support weekly services and events.
- Produce video content for worship, online services, sermon bumper videos, and social media.
- Coordinate with communications to produce, edit, publish, distribute, and archive all media.
- Consult various PHPC ministries to understand and establish the need for such media.
- Serve as the primary recording engineer for music, worship, and special media projects.
- Act as a systems engineer, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading AV systems campus-wide.
- Oversee technical inventories and equipment life cycles.
- Ensure clean, safe, and professional setups with best practices for routing, signal flow, and power management during all productions.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise a growing volunteer base for support across services and events.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, clear communication, and technical excellence across all ministries.
- Strategically plan and execute the hiring and training of new technical staff.
- Transition hands-on roles (e.g., operation, editing, setup) to support staff over time, with the goal of shifting into a broader leadership and oversight position.
- Lead AV strategy in alignment with PHPC’s capital campaign and long-term campus planning.
- Collaborate with church leadership, architects, and consultants on future technical infrastructure.
- Guide the implementation of technology that supports all PHPC ministries.
- Partner closely with PHPC’s world-class music department to support concerts, rehearsals, recordings, and performances.
- Plan and engineer high-fidelity audio and video support for choral, orchestral, and guest artist performances.
- Contribute to the long-term vision of expanding the church’s technical capabilities to match and enhance the level of its music program and ministry.
