DanceBUG Inc. is seeking a Traveling Camera Operator to capture high-quality video at dance competitions and studio events across North America. You'll operate cameras for both live streams and recorded coverage, framing and tracking performances to showcase dancers at their best. Responsibilities include setting up and tearing down video, audio, and lighting equipment; monitoring feeds; managing media cards and file transfers;

and supporting technical troubleshooting on site. This role is fast-paced and highly collaborative, working closely with producers, event staff, and tech teams. Weekend work and frequent travel are required. Ideal candidates bring strong camera skills, reliability, and a passion for live performance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cameras for live and recorded coverage of dance competitions and studio events
  • Set up and break down video, audio, and lighting gear at venues
  • Support live streaming workflows, ensuring stable, high-quality feeds
  • Frame, focus, and track dancers to capture clear, dynamic performances
  • Manage media cards, file transfers, and basic QC of footage
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and event staff on shot plans and schedules
  • Troubleshoot common equipment and connectivity issues on site
  • Maintain equipment, reporting issues and following handling protocols
  • Follow client and brand guidelines for coverage and presentation
  • Travel frequently, including weekends and extended event days
