Blaze Media is seeking a Media Relations Coordinator to support the company’s media relations and external communications efforts across its brands, shows, talent, and corporate initiatives.
The Media Relations Coordinator will help identify, develop and execute media opportunities that expand Blaze Media’s reach, grow audiences for its shows, strengthen the visibility of its talent, and increase the company effectively within the broader media conversation. The role requires someone who understands how newsrooms operate, recognizes what makes a story timely and relevant, and can move quickly from an idea to effective outreach and execution.
A key focus of the role will be securing strategic appearances for Blaze hosts and talent across external media platforms while bringing high-value guests and voices onto Blaze programming. This is an execution-oriented position with meaningful responsibility for day-to-day media relations. The Media Relations Coordinator will work closely with Blaze leadership, marketing, editorial teams, producers, and talent.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Identify and pursue timely media opportunities for Blaze personalities, executives, and shows, including interviews, appearances, commentary, features, profiles, and other earned-media opportunities.
- Source and secure guests for Blaze shows, including high-profile or priority targets identified by hosts, producers, and leadership.
- Develop and execute outreach to secure appearances for Blaze hosts and talent on external television programs, podcasts, radio shows, digital platforms, and other relevant media.
- Manage inbound and outbound media opportunities from initial outreach through booking, scheduling, preparation, and follow-up.
- Build, maintain, and leverage strong relationships with journalists, producers, podcasters, bookers, hosts, editors, guests, and talent representatives to create a sustainable pipeline of media opportunities.
- Monitor breaking news, media coverage, social platforms, and emerging stories; research relevant reporters and outlets to identify timely opportunities and inform outreach.
- Partner with hosts and producers to understand guest priorities and maintain targeted booking lists based on host wish list, programming needs, current events, and strategic network priorities.
- Proactively pursue priority guests and hard-to-reach personalities through creative outreach and relationship-building.
- Draft and edit media pitches, press materials, talking points, and other external communications.
- Track and report on media placements, guest bookings, talent appearances, mentions, audience reach, and other indicators of media impact.
- Support publicity surrounding new shows, talent announcements, partnerships, events, special projects, and company initiatives. working with internal teams to ensure communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with Blaze Media's broader brand and business objectives.
- Provide logistical and communications support during fast-moving or sensitive news cycles.
