The Customer Service Representative serves as a front-line representative supporting departments, campuses, and administrative offices. This role is responsible for assisting visitors, parents, guardians, students, and community stakeholders while ensuring professional customer service and accurate information delivery. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication skills, professionalism, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced public-facing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Welcome and assist visitors requiring assistance at district offices and welcome centers.
- Direct visitors to the appropriate department, office, or district resource.
- Assist parents and guardians with questions related to transportation services and district programs.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Provide accurate information regarding district services, procedures, and resources.
- Maintain visitor logs and administrative records as assigned.
- Support administrative staff with clerical duties and data entry.
- Process forms, documents, and correspondence as needed.
- Escalate concerns to appropriate supervisors or departments.
- Maintain confidentiality of district information and student-related records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year of customer service, receptionist, administrative support, or public-facing experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Previous experience in a school district, government agency, or public service environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Experience working with parents, students, or community stakeholders.
- Frequent sitting and standing.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- School district administrative offices.
- Reception areas and welcome centers.
- Climate-controlled office environment.
- Frequent interaction with students, parents, visitors, and staff.
- Monday through Friday.
- Day shift.
- Schedule determined by departmental assignment.
