Our client is seeking a motivated Financial Aid Advisor to join their team.

About the Opportunity

Our client, a mission-driven, not-for-profit institution with 12 ground campuses, an online division, and more than 12,000 students, is looking for a Financial Aid Advisor to support students at its upcoming Dallas, TX campus (targeted to open Fall 2026). The Financial Aid Advisor serves as a trusted guide for students navigating the financial aid process, working closely with the Financial Aid leadership team to ensure a smooth, supportive experience from enrollment through graduation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students regarding financial aid options, including loans, grants, scholarships, and payment plans
  • Explain complex financial aid policies, procedures, and federal/state regulations in clear, easy-to-understand terms
  • Maintain positive, engaging conversations with students who may be anxious about financing their education
  • Process and review financial aid applications and documentation, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements
  • Accurately track cases, maintain student records, and document interactions within CRM/information systems
  • Collaborate with admissions, academics, and other departments to support student success
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvements
  • Other financial aid-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in financial aid, customer service, call center, or another student- or client-facing role preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complicated processes to people who are confused or frustrated, while keeping conversations positive and engaging
  • Experience using databases, CRMs, or information systems to track cases, maintain records, and support customers or students
  • Professional demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple student cases simultaneously
  • Ethical, patient, and empathetic work style with a high level of professionalism expected
Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
