Architect / Sr. Architect, Environmental/ Urban Planning
Our San Antonio or Dallas, TX offices are seeking a Project Architect to lead the planning, design, documentation, and construction administration of multiple building types, including high-performance data centers, water treatment facilities, advanced manufacturing plants, office spaces, operations centers, and maintenance facilities.
In this role, you’ll partner with project managers to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver construction documents and milestone deliverables, coordinate with governing agencies for code compliance, conduct QA/QC reviews, write architectural specifications, and provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.
Responsibilities- Be knowledgeable in technical design concepts, code applications, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflows for industrial-type facilities.
- Lead owner/client and internal meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Lead project teams with varied levels of experience to successfully complete and deliver construction documents and intermediate milestone deliverables.
- Manage and undertake design activities and the production of detailed documents required for construction.
- Independently coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team through all phases of a project.
- Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
- Perform QA/QC and cross discipline technical reviews.
- Write and edit architectural specifications.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders.
- Incorporate agreed‑upon changes into project documents.
- Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.
- Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with Client Representatives, Project Managers and other disciplines.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant prior experience in industrial architecture (e.g., data centers, water treatment facilities, public utility facilities, operations centers, aerospace, manufacturing).
- LEED Accreditation with experience or interest in sustainable design.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
- Experience facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders (engineers, client, contractors, subcontractors, AHJs).
Due to client contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Registered Architect.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and processes.
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
- Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of codes and strong planning skills.
